Evelyn Edelman is the talent behind Big Booty Big Money.  I was out one evening shopping around and ran into this funky, fun, wonderful little unknown store of goodies.  I rarely get excited about finding new things, but this is not just a find, BBBM is a treasure.  We hope to change that “unknown” part, as we unfold the mystery behind BBBM.  Helene Diplomat interviewed Evelyn for MODA  Fashion SL and uncovered some things that surprised even me: “Once, I had a dream about a dress that I then proceeded to make upon waking (the dormant dress, so named for my semi-conscious conception phase).” Evelyn’s dark humor and hidden sensitivity (to light maybe) shows in her designs and yet this is the type of fashion we are looking for when we shop.  Something different, something fun; something awesome.  Take a look:

Clio Cardiff was initially involved with MODA during the fashion show that turned our Showcases into a week fashion event on SLCN.tv. That show can still be viewed on Second Life Cable Network at http://slcn.tv/moda-july-fashion-showcase Meanwhile, Clio has changed the name of her store from CCard to Clio Pret-a-Porter, and introduced some beautiful new textures to her line of fashions. She still moves her best-sellers, that we initially fell in love with but now there are more. Thank you Clio for allowing MODA to model these dazzling new fashions, we love them!

Spirit by SavannahAnn McMillan features the best in cheerleader fashions and the most amazing ballet costumes in Second life. The Spotlight models took these fashions and really put on a show this week in pom poms and tutus.

The MODA Fashion Spotlight team is honored to produce this Spotlight for Ambergris Deadly Fashions. Ambergris Baphomet is a popular Second Life fashion designer who’s versatility and sense of style is just edgy enough to get the attention of just about everyone who shops. For her Spotlight event, Ambergris decided to show a progression of styles, ranging from her original sets, which are still her best-sellers, to some brand new designs that truly showcase her skills and highlight her talent as a fashion designer. While the models were able to effectively storyboard her fashions, we can hardly keep up! Typically the end of a busy Holiday season and the beginning of a new year would mean newness: A new look, a new attitude, new schedule, fresh faces. With MODA, our entire year in 2007 was newness. While we kept our core creators, we added new talent, and we raised the level of quality for in-game education, content creation and we proved beyond a doubt that virtual teams can and do work. In place of a fashion show, MODA and SLCN.tv decided to give our viewers a look on the inside of the MODA Fashion Spotlight. I would like to personally welcome to MODA, Kallyfaith Rolland of KO Designs. On December 17, 2007 the MODA Spotlight Runway Team and Second Life Cable Network produced the MODA Fashion Spotlight event to highlight her new works. Kallyfaith has very quickly made my list of favorite designers with her innovative new fashion and her impressive talent for texturing. The detail in her work is stunning. KO Designs is an established Second Life clothing label, known primarily for creative costuming and sexy fashions. This new line of couture proves that KO Designs is headed in the right direction. MODA Modeling School and Diva Style have been long time friends, as Honeydew Hilite was once a student at MODA. I fell in love with her business-casual style. Diva Style is a refreshing break from the too-short skirts and masculine business wear that was available to us at that time. Honeydew was kind enough to allow us to promote her work at our first MODA Fashion Spotlight event filmed live on Second Life Cable Network (SLCN). It was the start of our weekly series, spotlighting her original designs, and putting our new MODA Spotlight Team to the test.

On July 26, 2007, MODA Modeling School and SLCN.tv worked together to bring you the first Second Life Fashion show filmed live. MODA Modeling School had already built a reputation for well-produced, choreographed fashion events that showcased graduating students and several Second Life fashion designers. Our shows ran approximately 2 hours, our entire team was pushed to higher limits with each show, and everyone left knowing it was a job well done. MODA and Second Life Cable Network raised the bar that night, for everyone. It was a first, and while we all thought it might be our last, it was really the start of a whole new world for MODA, for SLCN and for all of Second Life fashion.
